Feature Film Sound Design Los Angeles, CA entry Budget: $2000-3000/week

Hey all, I'm Camille, a Production Designer on an exciting independent feature film shooting this summer in Los Angeles. We're looking for a sharp, creative entry-level Sound Designer to join our team. This is a thrilling, character-driven psychological thriller with some genuinely unsettling moments, and sound will be absolutely crucial to its success. We need someone who can craft immersive and impactful soundscapes, from subtle atmospheric touches to intense sonic assaults. You'll be responsible for all post-production sound elements, including sound effects editing, foley recording coordination, and dialogue clean-up, working closely with our picture editor and director to realize their vision. Ideal candidates will have some prior experience with professional DAW software like Pro Tools, an understanding of cinematic sound principles, and a strong ear for detail. Please have a reel showcasing your best sound design work, even if it's from student projects or shorts. You’ll need to provide your own sound design software and necessary plugins, but we’ll provide a dedicated workstation for mixing. Shoot dates are approximately late July to early September, but post-production sound will likely begin in late September/early October, and run for about 4-6 weeks. Expect standard 10-hour days, five days a week. We're a supportive crew dedicated to making something special, and this is a great opportunity to get a significant feature film credit under your belt. Looking forward to seeing your work!
