Senior Sound Designer for Brooklyn Short Film

Hey there, I'm a screenwriter with an upcoming independent short film and I'm looking for a senior-level Sound Designer to join our team in Brooklyn. This is a dramatic thriller, quite character-driven, with subtle psychological elements. We're aiming for a really immersive and unsettling soundscape to elevate the audience's experience, so someone who excels at crafting atmospheric textures and intricate sound details would be perfect. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the director to develop the film's sonic identity, creating custom sound effects, foley recording and editing, and mixing the final soundtrack. We'll need you to have your own professional sound design suite and experience delivering broadcast-ready mixes. A strong portfolio demonstrating your work on narrative fiction, especially in the thriller or drama genre, is a must. Approximate post-production dates are late summer/early fall for about 4-6 weeks, flexible hours. Compensation is negotiable based on experience.
