Entry-Level Sound Designer, NOLA Feature Film
Hey there! We’re an independent production shooting a gritty, character-driven dramatic feature in New Orleans this summer and are looking for an enthusiastic entry-level Sound Designer to join our team. This film explores themes of loss and resilience, set against the vibrant backdrop of the city, and we're aiming for a rich, immersive soundscape that truly elevates the narrative. As our Sound Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating and sourcing all sound effects, foley, and ambient tracks. You’ll be working closely with our picture editor to shape the sonic world of the film, ensuring everything from subtle character nuances to key environmental sounds are impactful and blend . Experience with industry-standard DAWs like Pro Tools or Adobe Audition is a must, and while we’re open to emerging talent, a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your sound work on short films or other projects is essential. You should also have your own professional-grade sound design software and potentially a small personal sound library you can draw from. Shoot dates are approximately July and August, followed by post-production for several weeks. This will be a full-time commitment during post, likely 10-12 hour days. We'll provide a dedicated mixing space and all necessary picture and sound references. We're a tight-knit crew and looking for someone who's passionate, collaborative, and ready to dive in. Looking forward to seeing your work!
