Entry Sound Designer, Commercial (Remote/Toronto)
Hey everyone, I'm Ethan Savard, a Sound Editor, and I'm looking for an entry-level Sound Designer to join an upcoming commercial project. It’s a short, stylish commercial for a new tech product, with a clean, modern aesthetic. We're aiming for a sleek, contemporary sound that complements the visuals, using crisp and impactful sound effects to elevate the product's features. Think minimalist but powerful soundscapes. Your main responsibilities will involve designing and sourcing a range of sound effects, creating atmospheric and textural elements, and subtly integrating musical cues into the overall sound design. This isn't just about finding stock sounds (though that's part of it), it's about crafting unique audio experiences that really stand out. You'll work closely with me to bring the director's vision to life. Ideally, you'll have your own personal setup, including a workstation and professional-grade headphones/monitors. Prior experience on student films or independent projects is a big plus, and a solid demo reel showcasing your sound design work is essential. Even if it's just a few compelling examples, show me what you can do. This is a paid position, offering between $150-300 per day, depending on experience and scope. While we value in-person collaboration, we're totally open to remote work for the right candidate. We anticipate the sound design phase will be approximately 5-7 days of work, starting in late May/early June. Looking forward to hearing from you!
