Entry VFX Artist, Animated Feature

Hey Chicago film community! I'm an Animator working on an independent animated feature film and I'm currently looking for a talented entry-level VFX Artist to join our small, but passionate team. This project is a whimsical dark fantasy adventure with a unique visual style, blending traditional animation with modern CGI elements. We're aiming for a look that's both enchanting and a little eerie, and VFX will be crucial in bringing that vision to life. As our VFX Artist, your main responsibilities will include creating and integrating elements like magical effects, environmental atmospherics (fog, rain, dust), and creature effects. We'll be working closely to ensure everything fits the overall aesthetic. You'll need to have a strong understanding of compositing, particle systems, and 3D software (Blender, Houdini, or similar). Please have a reel showcasing your best work in these areas. This is a partnership opportunity, offering a Co-producer credit and backend participation in exchange for your invaluable contributions. While we don't have a firm start date yet, we anticipate beginning pre-production work in late summer, with flexible hours that can be worked remotely for much of the initial phase. We'll provide access to our asset library, software licenses as needed, and full creative collaboration. Excited to hear from you!
