VFX for Short Film

Hey film fam. I'm DeShawn, a Best Boy Grip on an independent production wrapping up principal photography. We're looking for a talented mid-level VFX Artist to bring our sci-fi short film, currently titled \"The Last Beacon,\" to life in post-production. It's a suspenseful, atmospheric piece with heavy inspiration from classic 70s and 80s sci-fi, so we're aiming for practical-feeling effects with a touch of modern polish. Your primary responsibilities will include 2D/3D compositing, set extension, and minor creature effects, helping us create convincing otherworldly environments and subtle alien encounters. We're looking for someone who can work largely independently but also collaborate effectively with our صغيرة editing team. You'll need to have your own software and workstation, a strong demo reel showcasing relevant work, and experience delivering production-ready VFX shots. We're pretty flexible on the exact start date but ideally, we'd like to begin post-production within the next 2-3 weeks. We anticipate about 5-7 days of workspread out over a month or averaging around 8-10 hours a day when you're on task. Compensation is $150-300 per day, negotiable based on experience and the final scope of work. Remote work is absolutely fine, but if you're in New Orleans we'd love to have you swing by the edit suite sometimes. Let's make some cool movie magic.
