Feature Film Directing Toronto, ON mid Budget: $150-300/day

Hey filmmakers, I'm Lucas, a gaffer, and I'm helping a small production company find a talented Director for an upcoming independent feature film. This is a dramatic thriller, think psychological tension with a grounded, gritty aesthetic. It's a character-driven piece that explores themes of trust and betrayal, offering a lot of room for nuanced visual storytelling and strong performances. We're looking for someone with a clear vision who can elevate an already compelling script. You'll be responsible for leading the creative team, guiding performances, and translating the screenplay into a captivating cinematic experience. We need someone who can work efficiently, inspire the cast and crew, and maintain a consistent tone throughout the shoot. You should have 2-3 feature film directing credits or extensive experience directing high-quality short films, commercials, or episodic content. Please send your reel or links to your previous work. Experience working with a moderate budget is a plus. We are seeking a director who can bring their own unique style while collaborating effectively with department heads. The shoot is tentatively scheduled for late fall, approximately 20-25 days. We're looking at 12-hour days, including travel. We'll provide a healthy crew meal plan and craft services. This is a paid position, $150-300 per day, negotiable based on experience. Excited to see what you've got!
