Gaffer for Sci-Fi Comedy Web Series (Deferred Pay)

Seeking a talented Gaffer for a 3-episode sci-fi comedy web series shooting in New York City with deferred pay. Our upcoming project blends quirky humor with light sci-fi elements, exploring the mishaps of a group of amateur time travelers. It's a fun, character-driven story with visual potential, aimed at an online audience. We're looking for someone enthusiastic about bringing creative lighting to a small independent production. You'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, working closely with the Cinematographer, managing the grip and electric team, and ensuring all lighting is safe and effective. Your responsibilities will include setup, operation, and strike of all lighting equipment, as well as problem-solving on set. We're looking for about 4-5 days of work. Prep would be the last week of September 2026, followed by shoot dates in the first half of October 2026. Expected hours are 10-12 per day. Applicants should have at least 2-3 years of Gaffer experience on independent productions, ideally with a comedic or genre background. Please provide a reel or portfolio showcasing your lighting work. While we have a basic lighting package, candidates bringing a small, flexible lighting kit would be a plus, though not strictly required.
