Gaffer for Sci-Fi Pilot

Hey everyone, I'm Sierra, a Hair Department Head here in LA, and I'm helping our fantastic producing team find a Gaffer for an upcoming sci-fi pilot we're shooting. This project is a really cool, gritty sci-fi thriller, think early Alien meets a bit of Black Mirror. We're looking for someone creative who can bring some great practical effects and atmospheric lighting to the screen with a small but dedicated crew. Your main responsibilities will be overseeing the lighting plot, setting up and striking lights, and working closely with our DP to create the desired look. We need someone with a good understanding of various lighting techniques, safety protocols, and DMX control. You should have some entry-level gaffing experience on set, ideally on shorts or indie features, and a reel or portfolio if you have one. You'll need to have access to a basic kit of lighting equipment, or at least knowledge of where to rent locally. We're shooting for 3-4 days in mid-July (dates are TBD but locked in soon), likely 10-12 hour days. We'll provide meals and water, and a really supportive, collaborative vibe.
