Gaffer (Entry) for Corporate Video

Corporate Video Lighting Toronto, ON entry Budget: Deferred pay

Hey everyone, Ethan here. We're looking for an entry-level Gaffer for an upcoming corporate video project in Toronto. This isn't your typical dry corporate shoot, we're aiming for a polished, slightly cinematic feel for an internal communications piece, focusing on innovation within a tech company. Think bright, clean aesthetics without being stuffy. Your main responsibilities will involve setting up and striking lights, managing power, and working closely with the Cinematographer to achieve the desired look. We're looking for someone eager to learn and contribute creatively to the lighting design. No need to own a full lighting package, but familiarity with various types of lighting instruments, grip gear, and electrical safety is a must. A basic lighting kit (small LEDs, flags, stands) would be a bonus, but not required if you're comfortable operating rented gear. Please have a portfolio or reel, even if it’s student work or small projects, that demonstrates your understanding of lighting principles. Shoot dates are approximately late April / early May for about 2-3 days, with typical 10-hour days. We'll be providing all major lighting equipment and catering on set. This is a deferred payment opportunity, ideal for someone looking to build their reel and gain experience on a professional set. Looking forward to hearing from you.
