Lighting for Feature Film
Hey fellow filmmakers, I'm a screenwriter with an exciting indie feature project, a dark comedy with surrealist elements, that needs a skilled Gaffer. We're looking for someone to really help us craft the visual language of this film, which explores themes of identity and societal absurdity. It's quirky, visually driven, and has a lot of potential to stand out. Your main responsibilities will include designing and implementing the lighting plan, working closely with the Cinematographer, managing the electric team, and ensuring all safety protocols are met. We need someone who can work resourcefully to achieve high-quality results. We're primarily seeking a senior gaffer with a strong reel demonstrating experience on narrative features. Crucially, you'll need access to a comprehensive lighting package (including Grip gear) for a modest indie film. We're offering a partnership stake (revenue share) in the film, an opportunity for significant backend participation should the film find distribution and success. Our approximate shoot dates are 3-4 weeks in late spring/early summer, primarily 10-12 hour days. Location will be various spots around Brooklyn. We'll provide craft services and some transportation. If you're passionate about indie film and ready to build something special, please send your reel and a brief intro. Excited to hear from you.
