Gaffer for Sci-Fi Pilot (Chicago)

Hey team, Marcus here. I'm putting the word out for a skilled Gaffer to join us on an exciting sci-fi pilot shooting right here in Chicago. This indie project is a grounded, character-driven sci-fi thriller, think 'Arrival' meets 'Ex Machina,' with a heavy emphasis on atmospheric lighting to build suspense and wonder. We're looking for someone who can craft compelling visual narratives and has a strong sense of mood and drama. You'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, leading a small grip and electric crew, and ensuring top-notch illumination for all scenes. We're seeking someone with 3-5 years of Gaffer experience, particularly on narrative projects. Please have a strong reel showcasing your work. We'll be providing all major lighting and grip equipment, but a personal kit might be a plus. Shoot dates are TBD but looking at late October for approximately 5-7 days. Long days are expected, but we prioritize a respectful and collaborative set. Day rate is $300-500, depending on experience. Let's make some magic!
