Lighting for Documentary
Hey filmmakers, Nelson here, Rigging Gaffer on an exciting new documentary. We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic Lighting Assistant to join our small, independent production team in New York. This project is a character-driven doc, exploring the vibrant street art scene in NYC, with a gritty, authentic tone. We're aiming for a visual style that's naturalistic but still visually compelling, so your eye for detail and ability to work quickly will be key. Your main gig will be assisting our Gaffer and DP with lighting setups, helping with cable management, setting up stands, flagging, and generally being an integral part of the lighting crew. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door on a real production. We're looking for someone with basic knowledge of lighting principles and safety. No need for your own gear, we'll have everything covered. Please send over a resume or a brief rundown of any relevant experience. While entry-level, a strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential. We anticipate a flexible shooting schedule, mostly weekends and some weekdays, spread out over a few months within the next 4-6 months. Specific dates are TBD but we're looking to start discussions soon. This is a passion project for everyone involved, so compensation will be on a deferred backend percentage basis. Come help us tell an important story!
