Gaffer (Senior) - Sci-Fi Feature, ABQ

Hey everyone, looking for a senior Gaffer for an upcoming independent sci-fi feature shooting in Albuquerque, NM. This project's got a really cool, atmospheric tone, leaning into practical effects and immersive world-building. We're aiming for something visually striking, so lighting is absolutely key to our aesthetic. You'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plan, leading the electric team, and working closely with our DP to achieve their vision. We need someone who’s got a strong background in large-scale setups, understands complex power distribution, and can problem-solve on the fly while maintaining a collaborative set. Bring your expertise and creative eye. You'll need to have access to your own basic distro and some fixtures where appropriate, though we'll be renting a dedicated package. Please share your reel or a portfolio of your gaffing work. Shoot dates are TBD but looking at late summer, early fall, typically 12-hour days. This is a deferred pay position, which we believe will be well worth it once the film picks up distribution. Let’s make something awesome.
