Gaffer (Web Series, LA)

Hey everyone, Alex here. I'm a 2nd AC on an independent web series filming in Los Angeles and we're looking for a talented Gaffer to join our crew. This is a thrilling, genre-bending web series, think dark comedy meets psychological thriller, with a really unique visual style we're aiming for. It's an ambitious project but a ton of fun to work on, especially if you love playing with light to create atmosphere and tension. We need someone who can lead a small lighting team, execute the DP's vision, and effectively manage our lighting package. Key responsibilities include power distribution, rigging, shaping light, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone with at least a few years of Gaffer experience on narrative projects, and a strong understanding of various lighting fixtures and techniques. A reel demonstrating your work is a must. We're shooting for approximately 4 weeks, largely in late October/early November (dates are still firming up a bit but we'll lock them down soon). Long days will be involved, as is common on these types of productions, but we'll do our best to maintain a professional and efficient schedule. We'll provide the lighting package and grip gear, you just bring your expertise and enthusiasm. Don't hesitate to reach out with your reel and a brief intro!
