Lighting for Documentary

Documentary Lighting New Orleans, LA any Budget: $1000-1500/day

Hey NOLA lighting pros, we're looking for a skilled Lighting Technician for an upcoming independent documentary feature. This film explores the vibrant, often hidden, cultural traditions of New Orleans, aiming for a naturalistic, intimate feel that really captures the soul of the city. We need someone who can work efficiently and subtly to help us achieve beautiful, authentic lighting setups in diverse locations, from dimly lit clubs to sun-drenched second-line parades. Your main responsibilities will include setting up and striking lighting equipment, working with the DP to execute lighting plans, managing power, and ensuring all gear is maintained and organized. We’re open to all experience levels, from talented newcomers looking to build their reel to seasoned pros, as long as you've got a strong work ethic and an understanding of nuanced documentary lighting. Having your own basic lighting kit (small LED panels, modifiers, stands) is a plus, but we’ll also be providing a comprehensive lighting package. Please share a link to your reel or any relevant work examples. Shoot dates are approximate and will primarily be within a 3-4 week block in late summer/early fall, generally 10-12 hour days. We offer a competitive daily rate of $1000-1500. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a deeply meaningful local story with a collaborative and passionate crew. Reach out if you're interested!
