Music Video Screenwriter
Hey everyone, Ben Castillo here. I'm helping out a friend with an independent production and we're looking for a talented entry level screenwriter to join our team for an upcoming music video project. It’s for a well-known independent artist, and the concept leans into a high-energy, action-comedy vibe with a strong narrative arc, something a bit unique for a music video. Think dynamic visuals and a story that truly amplifies the track. Your main gig will be developing a compelling treatment and then scripting out the visual narrative, including scene breakdowns and action cues. We’re really after someone with a fresh voice who can translate musical energy into a visual story. You'll need to be proficient in screenwriting software, no particular one, just skilled. We’ll be looking at your portfolio or past writing samples, even if they’re student films or spec scripts, so bring your best. Shoot dates are TBD but looking like late August or early September for about a two-day shoot. This is a paid gig, $1000-1500 per day for writing work, which we anticipate being 2-3 full days of intensive development. We’ll provide all necessary background info on the artist and song, and you’ll be working closely with the director. This is a great chance to get your work seen in a professional, albeit independent, setting here in Los Angeles.
