Screenwriter for Sci-Fi Drama Short

Hey filmmakers, we're on the hunt for a talented screenwriter for an upcoming independent short film. This is a character-driven sci-fi drama, imagine a Black Mirror episode but with more heart and local charm. We're looking to explore themes of technology, identity, and the choices we make, all wrapped up in a visually compelling narrative. It's a fresh concept, not your typical alien invasion. We’ve got a strong concept outline and some character arcs developed, but we need someone to craft a compelling, tight script, approximately 15-20 pages. Your main responsibility will be turning our story beats into sharp dialogue and vivid scene descriptions. We'll collaborate closely on story development. Ideal candidates will have a few mid-level screenwriting credits under their belt, especially with short form content. Please submit a resume and a writing sample, preferably a short screenplay or scene from a feature. Experience with sci-fi or drama genres is a major plus. Shoot dates are TBD, likely 3-4 days in late summer/early fall. This is a remote-friendly position, but local Atlanta writers are welcome to meet in person for collaborative sessions if desired. Compensation is paid, $300-500 per day for writing days, based on experience and scope of work.
