Entry-Level Screenwriter, Sci-Fi Feature (Paid)

Hey screenwriters, Monique here, a dialect coach on an exciting independent feature film. We're looking for an entry-level screenwriter to join our creative team. This is a unique sci-fi project, a thrilling character-driven piece with a grounded tone, exploring themes of identity and societal impact. Think less lasers and more psychological depth, a bit like 'Arrival' meets 'Eternal Sunshine'. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating on story development, drafting scene work, and refining dialogue with the director and existing writing team. We're seeking someone with a fresh voice and a strong grasp of narrative structure. While this is an entry-level position, a portfolio with compelling short scripts or early feature drafts is a must. Proven experience in collaborating on narrative projects is a plus, even if it's student work. Unfortunately, we can't accept applications without a writing sample. This is a paid position, offering $500-800 per day, depending on experience. We anticipate the writing period will be approximately 4-6 weeks, working remotely with regular virtual meetings. Specific hours will be flexible but require availability for team discussions. We'll provide all necessary software access and creative support. Excited to read your work!
