Music Video Screenwriter, Auckland

Looking for a talented mid-level screenwriter to join our team for an upcoming music video. We're creating a visually driven narrative for an indie pop artist, focusing on themes of nostalgia and longing with a dreamlike, slightly surreal tone. We have a strong concept for the overall aesthetic, but we need someone to help craft a compelling, concise story that works within the music video format, roughly 3-5 minutes in length. Your main responsibilities will be developing the treatment into a full script, outlining key scenes, and collaborating closely with the director to ensure the visuals and story align perfectly. We're looking for someone with a strong sense of visual storytelling and a knack for creating engaging, short-form narratives. Experience writing for music videos or short films is a major plus. Please send over your portfolio or reel that showcases your screenwriting work, especially anything narrative-focused. While specific gear isn't required for this role, strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential. The shoot dates are TBD, likely a 2-3 day shoot in late Spring, so we'll need the script finalized well in advance. We're planning for standard 10-12 hour shoot days, and you'd be involved in pre-production meetings as well. We'll provide all necessary creative assets and a clear brief. Compensation is $100-200 per day, dependent on experience and scope of work.
