Production for Music Video

Looking for a skilled Gaffer to light an upcoming music video project in Manchester. This is for an indie alt-pop artist, a visually driven track with a cool, slightly surreal vibe. We're aiming for a few distinct looks, focusing heavily on practicals and atmosphere to build the world of the song. You'll be instrumental in developing the lighting plan and executing it on set. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the DP and director on lighting design, rigging and operating various lighting fixtures, and ensuring a safe and efficient lighting setup. We need someone with a strong understanding of color temperature, power distribution, and creative light shaping. Must have experience gaffing on music videos or similar short-form narrative content. Please be able to provide examples of your work, ideally a reel showcasing your lighting. Having your own basic kit (stands, stingers, small fixtures) is a plus, but we'll be renting a dedicated lighting package. We'll provide transportation for the gear. Shoot dates are approximately two days in late July, full 10-12 hour days. Rate is $100-200/day, depending on experience. Meals and refreshments will be provided on set.
