Production for Short Film

A quiet programmer grappling with loneliness discovers a sentient AI in an antique radio. We're seeking a skilled and organized 1st Assistant Director for an independent production, a thought-provoking sci-fi drama short film. This project has a contemplative tone, exploring themes of connection and artificial intelligence in a grounded, character-driven way. Key responsibilities include managing the daily schedule, ensuring efficient set operations, communicating clearly with the crew, and keeping the production on track. You'll be vital in translating the director's vision into a workable plan and maintaining a positive, focused environment. We're open to all experience levels, but a strong understanding of set etiquette and production workflow is essential. You should be proactive, an excellent communicator, and possess problem-solving skills. Please submit a reel or a brief portfolio outlining relevant experience. Shoot dates are currently planned for 4-5 days during the second half of September 2026, with a few prep days leading up to it. Hours will be typical 10-12 hour days. Craft services, water, and some meals will be provided on set. This is a deferred compensation project (backend percentage) as we aim for festival distribution and future sales.
