Screenwriting for Short Film
Hey Montreal screenwriters, my name is Luc, I'm a Steadicam op, and I'm looking for a senior writer for an upcoming short film. This is going to be a 15-20 minute dramatic piece set in a suburban Quebecois town, focusing on themes of unspoken grief and community solidarity. We're aiming for a poignant, character-driven narrative with a strong sense of place. It's an independent production, and the story has some unique visual opportunities I'm excited about exploring. I'm hoping to find someone who can bring a refined voice and depth to the script, taking existing story beats and really fleshing them out into a compelling screenplay. You'd be responsible for developing character arcs, refining dialogue, and structuring the narrative. We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio of produced (or highly acclaimed unproduced) short film scripts, ideally with a focus on dramatic storytelling. Please include links to your reel or writing samples in your application. We're planning to shoot in late summer or early fall, so July/August for writing, with some flexibility. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and the scope of work. Looking forward to hearing from you.
