Senior Screenwriter, Music Video (Volunteer)

Hey Atlanta filmmakers, I'm reaching out on behalf of an exciting independent production. We're seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Screenwriter for an upcoming music video. This isn't your typical performance video, we're aiming for a cohesive, narrative-driven piece with surreal, almost dreamlike elements that complement the artist's atmospheric R&B sound. Think less traditional storytelling, more evocative imagery and emotional resonance. As our screenwriter, your main responsibility will be to brainstorm and develop a compelling, non-linear narrative concept that threads through the song, translating abstract feelings and lyrical themes into visual moments. We'll need you to craft detailed scene breakdowns and even some dialogue, if appropriate for the concept, that will guide our director and DP. This is a collaborative environment, so we're looking for someone who can take creative direction while contributing innovative ideas. Given the senior level, we're looking for a screenwriter with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work on music videos, short films, or narrative projects with a unique visual style. Experience writing for projects with fantastical or abstract elements is a big plus. While this is a volunteer, passion project, it's a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team and build your reel with a visually stunning piece. Approximate shoot dates are in late spring, primarily weekends. Hours will be flexible during pre-production. Coffee and snacks will be provided on set!
