Senior 1st AC for Indie Sci-Fi Short (Brooklyn)

We're seeking a highly experienced 1st Assistant Camera for an independent sci-fi short film shooting in Brooklyn. This is a suspenseful, character-driven piece exploring themes of isolation and existential dread, with a distinct visual style. We're looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about capturing compelling cinematic images. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining critical focus and managing camera equipment with precision and efficiency. You'll be working closely with our DP to ensure our vision comes to life. We require a senior-level professional with a strong portfolio of short films or independent features as a 1st AC. You should be familiar with various cinema camera systems, especially ARRI and RED, and bring your own essential 1st AC kit (e.g., follow focus, monitors, lens cleaning supplies, focus charts). We're particularly interested in folks who have worked on projects with a similar genre or aesthetic. Shoot dates are approximately late June, early July (3-4 days total) with standard 10-12 hour days. We'll provide craft services, a meal, and a positive, collaborative set environment.
