Sound Design for Documentary
An independent production is seeking a talented Sound Designer for an upcoming documentary exploring the history of street art in Brooklyn. This isn't just about sound effects, it's about crafting an immersive auditory experience that brings the city's vibrant energy and the artists' unique perspectives to life. We're looking for someone to handle all aspects of sound design, from cleaning dialogue and creating foley to designing atmospheric soundscapes and mixing the final product. You'll work closely with the editorial team to enhance the narrative and emotional impact. We expect you to have your own professional-grade sound design software and access to a comprehensive sound effects library. A strong reel showcasing your documentary sound work is essential. This is a mid-level position, so experience with long-form projects is preferred. The bulk of the sound design work will take place in October 2026, with an estimated 3-4 weeks of dedicated effort, primarily remote but with some required sessions in our Brooklyn editing suite. Compensation will be determined based on experience. We're aiming to wrap up applications by September 24, 2026.
