Sound Design for Feature Film
A haunting mystery unfolds in a remote, abandoned town, where the line between reality and hallucination blurs for a lone investigator. We are seeking a talented Sound Designer for an independent feature film that will challenge conventions and immerse audiences in a deeply atmospheric experience. This is a crucial role for a project aiming for a psychological, unsettling tone, requiring a creative approach to sonic storytelling that enhances tension and character perspective. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing all sound effects, ambient beds, foley, and potential sonic textures, working closely with the director and the sound editor (me). We need someone who can craft a unique soundscape from scratch, interpreting the film's vision into a compelling auditory journey. Experience with various DAWs (Pro Tools preferred) and high-quality sound libraries is essential. Please provide a link to your reel showcasing your sound design work, particularly for narrative projects. Any experience with spatial audio or experimental sound techniques would be a plus. This is a Toronto-based position, primarily remote but with occasional in-person meetings. Post-production is scheduled to begin in earnest in late October 2026, with an estimated workload of about 6-8 weeks, spread flexibly. Compensation is negotiable based on experience. We are open to all experience levels, from emerging artists to seasoned professionals, as long as you have a strong portfolio and a passion for creative sound. We are a small production company dedicated to bringing unique stories to life and look forward to collaborating.
