Sound Design for Short Film

A young woman haunted by a recurring nightmare must uncover its source before it consumes her reality. We're seeking a creative Sound Designer for an independent short film, a psychological mystery thriller shooting in Atlanta. Your mission will be to craft an immersive and unsettling auditory landscape that elevates the film's suspense and emotional depth. Key responsibilities include creating original sound effects, foley, atmospheric textures, and collaborating closely with our director and editor to integrate sound into the final cut. We're looking for someone with a strong artistic vision and the technical skills to execute it. A reel showcasing your past work, particularly in genre films, is highly preferred but not strictly required if your passion and potential shine through. Ownership of relevant software (DAWs like Pro Tools, Logic, or Reaper) and a personal sound effects library would be a huge plus. This is a compensated role, offering $2000-3000 per week, with an estimated commitment of about 3-4 weeks for post-production, primarily in late October and early November 2026. This includes pre-production consultation, the main design phase, and final mix review. We'll provide a dedicated mixing suite in Atlanta for your use, and are happy to discuss any specific gear needs you might have.
