VFX for Documentary

Documentary VFX New Orleans, LA senior Budget: Equity partnership

We need a Senior VFX Artist to come onboard an independent documentary project starting work in September 2026. This isn't your typical doc; it's a gritty, character-driven story about the hidden history of New Orleans' unique musical traditions, incorporating surreal, stylized visuals to illustrate historical events and emotional states. We're looking for someone who can craft compelling visual effects, from subtle atmospheric enhancements to more complex, abstract sequences, all while maintaining a grounded, authentic feel. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and integrating all VFX elements, working closely with the director and editor. We’re aiming for about 6-8 weeks of work. You should have a strong reel demonstrating advanced compositing, motion graphics, and perhaps some 3D work, with a proven track record on similar projects. Ownership of your own software and workstation is required. This is a unique opportunity for an equity partnership, sharing in the film's success. Post-production will be based in New Orleans, LA.
