VFX for Web Series

When a small-town podcast uncovers a century-old curse, they awaken something truly ancient and hungry. We're looking for an entry-level VFX Artist for our upcoming independent web series, a character-driven supernatural horror with a dark comedic edge. This is a passion project, and we need someone excited to contribute their skills to bringing our practical and digital creature effects to life. Your main responsibilities will include helping with rotoscoping, compositing, and creating subtle (and not-so-subtle) magical elements for our creature and environmental effects. We're shooting mostly practical, but there will be key moments where your digital artistry will be essential for the scares. You should have some foundational knowledge of VFX software (e.g., After Effects, Nuke, Blender) and ideally a reel showcasing your work, even if it's student or personal projects. No specific gear is required from you, as we’ll provide all necessary footage and assets. We anticipate a shooting schedule of about 1-2 days in late September or early October 2026, with post-production work following for approximately 3 weeks, spread out as schedules allow. This is a volunteer position, perfect for someone looking to build their reel and collaborate on a genuinely fun, spooky story. We’re shooting in Los Angeles, CA.
