Node Tree Personalization: Balancing Technical, Secondary, and Creative

Hey everyone,

I'm a music composer, but I've been diving deeper into color grading workflows for my own short film projects and collaborations. I've been trying to wrap my head around efficient node tree structures, especially when moving between technical corrections, specific secondary adjustments, and then applying a creative look. The guides I've seen offer great foundational structures, but I'm finding myself a bit lost when it comes to truly personalizing it for speed and consistency.

For example, on a recent short shot on an ALEXA Mini with a mix of an LS 1200d Pro and some Titan Tubes, I ended up with a sprawling tree trying to isolate skin tones while maintaining a cohesive grade. My usual approach involves a 'clean-up' section, then primaries, then secondaries, then my creative LUT, but it often feels clunky to revisit earlier nodes without affecting later stages. I'm keen to hear from experienced colorists.

How have you personalized your node tree structure to efficiently balance technical corrections, secondary adjustments, and creative look application?
