Voice Clones for ADR: Budget & Planning Impact?
Hey everyone, as a Line Producer, I'm genuinely curious about how new AI voice cloning tools, specifically something like ElevenLabs, are affecting our approach to ADR. I'm currently prepping a drama where we shot a lot on location with an ALEXA Mini, and despite our best efforts with an MKH 416, we're definitely going to have some pickups. Previously, I'd factor in significant studio time and actor availability for ADR. Now, with the potential for highly realistic voice clones, I'm wondering if this changes anything drastically in terms of scheduling and, more importantly, budgeting for dialogue replacement. Has anyone actually integrated this into their production workflow? What are the practical implications? What's your experience been like, and how has it shifted your planning?
