Reg CF & Wefunder: Shifting from single campaigns to a 'community studio' model?

I’m Terrence, a DIT, and I’ve been thinking a lot about the bigger picture for indie filmmaking lately. My work usually has me wrangling data from ALEXA Minis or sometimes an ALEXA 35 on bigger sets, and dealing with rushes from everything from a C300 Mark III to a KOMODO-X.

Historically, when we talk about funding, it’s always been project-by-project: find money for this short, then money for that feature. But with Reg CF and platforms like Wefunder gaining traction, I'm seeing more and more small production houses successfully raising capital, not just for one film, but for their slate or even the company itself.

We recently did a small campaign for a documentary (shot mostly on an FX6 with a couple of LS 300x lights) and while it was successful, it felt like a lot of work for a one-off. It got me wondering if anyone here has genuinely shifted their strategy to leverage these platforms to build a more sustainable, long-term 'community studio' model? Rather than just campaign to campaign, how are you thinking about building a lasting supporter base for multiple projects?
