Scripty here: Real-world workflow vs. the 'Producer's Bible', How do you cope?

Megan Foster, Script Supervisor here. I'm currently on a demanding indie feature, and I've been trying to implement some of the fantastic 'Producer's Workflow Bible' best practices I've seen championed online, think meticulously shared calendars, daily production reports with version control, and comprehensive living documents for everything. It looks so neat on paper.

My biggest clash has been with our shooting schedule. I set up a beautiful system for tracking changes, but when the AD announces a page-one rewrite at 2 AM, and we're already three pages behind, those 'best practices' fly out the window as we scramble just to get the day's breakdown done. It feels like a constant battle between meticulous documentation and simply surviving the day.

What's been your biggest 'real-world vs. ideal' clash with these kinds of systems, and what concrete steps did you take to manage it and get back on track?
