DIT on Micro-Budget: What's Truly Essential vs. What Can We Cut?

Hey everyone, Isabella Ruiz here, working as a Line Producer on a pretty ambitious micro-budget indie feature. We're really trying to stretch every dollar. One area that always comes up is DIT. I know the value of a good DIT, especially for data integrity and workflow, but on our current budget, a full-blown DIT station and dedicated person feels like an immense luxury we simply can't afford without sacrificing something critical elsewhere.

We've been doing basic in-camera card dumps to dual drives, usually with a PA, and then hoping for the best until post. It's nerve-wracking, to say the least. So, my question to the community is: For a truly minimal, almost no-budget indie film, what are your absolute 'must-have' DIT essentials? And what corners do you feel genuinely comfortable cutting from the 'ideal' DIT list to make it work safely and efficiently?
