Mid-Level Screenwriter for Hip-Hop Music Video
Hey filmmakers, I'm Robin, a storyboard artist putting together an independent production for an upcoming hip-hop music video. We're looking for a talented mid-level screenwriter to help us craft a compelling narrative. This isn't just a performance video, we want a strong story that complements the artist's lyrics, something gritty and authentic, with a touch of surrealism. Think early Busta Rhymes or Missy Elliott visuals, but with a modern Chicago twist. Your main responsibility will be developing a treatment and script based on the artist's tracks and our initial concept ideas. You'll work closely with the director and artist to bring their vision to life. We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio showcasing prior screenwriting for short films, music videos, or commercials, especially in the hip-hop or urban drama genres. Please include a link to your reel or writing samples. We're offering $500-800 per day, depending on experience. This is a remote-friendly position, though local candidates in Chicago are a plus for potential in-person meetings. Estimated writing period is about 5-7 days, flexible over the next few weeks. We'll provide all musical tracks and concept briefs. Let's make some magic.
