Entry-Level Screenwriter (Feature Film)

Feature Film Screenwriting Atlanta, GA entry Budget: $1000-1500/day

Alright folks, Marcus Johnson here. I'm putting together a new feature film project, a grounded sci-fi drama, and I'm looking for a talented, fresh voice to collaborate on the screenplay. This isn't your typical space opera, it's more about human connection in a slightly altered reality, think 'Arrival' meets 'Eternal Sunshine'. I need someone who can help develop character arcs, craft compelling dialogue, and structure a narrative that really grabs an audience. You'll be working closely with me to refine existing concepts and build out the world of the film. Expect a lot of idea sharing and brainstorming sessions. Ideally, you should have a strong understanding of three-act structure and a knack for creating believable, nuanced characters. Please have a portfolio of writing samples, short scripts or treatments are great, that showcase your narrative voice. Specific experience in the sci-fi genre is a bonus, but strong storytelling ability is paramount. This is an independent production, based in Atlanta, GA. We're aiming for a few weeks of intensive writing, flexible hours, roughly 10-14 days of work spread out over a month or so. We'll be working remotely for a lot of it, but some in-person meetings here in Atlanta will be essential. This is a paid position, $1000-1500 per day, dependent on experience and the scope of work. Let's make something awesome.
