Commercial Screenwriter, Chicago (Mid-level)
Hey filmmakers, Marcus here. I’m a Foley Artist helping out a friend's independent production. We're looking for a skilled mid-level screenwriter for an upcoming commercial project based in Chicago. It’s for a tech startup, aiming for a smart, slightly humorous tone, showcasing their new productivity app. Think concise, engaging storytelling that highlights benefits without being too salesy. It needs to feel fresh and relatable, not like just another ad. Your main gig will be crafting a compelling 60-90 second script, including concept development, outlining, and drafting through revisions based on director feedback. We're looking for someone who can translate complex ideas into clear, impactful narrative beats. Experience writing for commercial spots or short-form content is a must, and we’d love to see a portfolio or reel that demonstrates your punchy, effective style. No specific gear needed on your end, just your brain and writing tools. Shoot dates are TBD, likely late May or early June, so we need a script ready by mid-May. This will be a part-time, project-based role, roughly 2-3 weeks of focused work. We're offering a daily rate of $300-500, depending on experience. Come join us in making something cool!
