Screenwriting for Pilot

Looking for a senior screenwriter to join our team for an exciting sci-fi pilot. This project is a gritty, character-driven drama set on a distant mining colony, exploring themes of survival and morality under extreme pressure. Think The Expanse meets Deadwood. We’re aiming for a compelling, high-concept narrative that hooks audiences immediately and sets up a rich series arc. Your primary responsibility will be developing the pilot script from our existing concept outline. This includes crafting engaging dialogue, refining character arcs, and structuring a multi-faceted plot. We’ll need someone who can work collaboratively, incorporating feedback while maintaining a strong creative vision. Given the complexity, we're seeking a writer with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work in sci-fi or genre drama, preferably with aired or produced credits. Please include your screenwriting reel or a portfolio of your work for consideration. This is a deferred compensation role with a backend percentage, ideal for a seasoned writer passionate about building something from the ground up with us. We're a small indie team, dedicated to bringing this ambitious story to life. While not a full-time position, expect to dedicate significant, focused hours during the development phase. Exact timeline is flexible but we're looking to start ASAP. This position is for Los Angeles locals.
