Director, Thriller Feature Film (Vancouver)

Hey everyone, Tyler here. I'm a camera operator on an upcoming independent feature film, and we're on the hunt for a skilled Director to join our team. This is a psychological thriller, a really character-driven piece with some fantastic twists, and a chance to explore some darker themes in a thought-provoking way. We're looking for someone who can bring a strong visual style and has a knack for eliciting powerful performances from actors. You'll be responsible for overseeing the creative vision of the film, guiding the cast and crew, and working closely with our DP to achieve the desired aesthetic. We need a director with at least mid-level experience on features or multiple shorts with significant narrative content. Please be ready to share a reel or examples of your previous directing work. We anticipate shooting for approximately 5-6 weeks in Vancouver, likely starting late summer or early fall. Standard 10-12 hour shoot days can be expected. We're offering a competitive rate of $2000-3000 per week, and while some essential production gear will be provided, we're looking for someone who's resourceful and adaptable, ready to make the most of our independent production budget.
