Entry-Level Sound Designer, Documentary
Hey everyone, I'm Ethan, a Sound Editor working on an upcoming independent documentary, and we're looking for an enthusiastic entry-level Sound Designer to join our team in Toronto. This project is a fascinating deep dive into urban subcultures, with a raw, authentic tone that will rely heavily on immersive sound to bring its world to life. It's a character-driven piece, and we need someone creative to help build out the aural landscape. Your primary responsibilities will include crafting original sound effects, designing unique sonic textures, and helping to identify and implement creative sound solutions for various scenes. You'll work closely with me on the overall sound design vision. We're looking for someone with a strong ear, proficient in relevant audio software (Pro Tools experience is a plus), and eager to contribute to a collaborative environment. While we're providing some core equipment and a solid workspace, having your own foundational sound design software and a good set of headphones is a definite asset. Please share a reel showcasing your sound design work, even if it's student projects or short films. The compensation for this role is $2000-3000 per week, depending on experience. Exact shoot dates are still being finalized but will be roughly over a 6-8 week period starting in late fall. We anticipate a pretty standard 40-hour work week, but flexibility is always appreciated in docs. This is a great opportunity to get a significant credit on a compelling independent film.
