Sound Designer, Music Video (Detroit)

Hey, Jordan Kemp here (aerial DP). We're looking for a talented mid-level Sound Designer for an upcoming music video project in Detroit. This isn't your typical pop video; it's a genre-bending piece blending dark synthwave aesthetics with experimental R&B, aiming for a really unique, immersive sonic landscape. We need someone who can craft atmosphere, design compelling sound effects, and help blend the music with bespoke audio elements to tell a deeper story. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the director and editor to define the sonic palette, sourcing or creating all sound effects, Foley, and ambient tracks, and ensuring a high-quality final audio mix. You'll need your own sound design rig, access to a sound effects library, and experience working on musical projects or narrative shorts with complex sound needs. Please provide a demo reel showcasing your sound design work, particularly anything with a non-traditional or atmospheric bent. Shoot dates are approximately late June, with post-production through July. We anticipate long days during the post phase, but we're committed to clear communication and a positive working environment. Compensation is $1000-1500 per day, depending on experience and scope.
