1st AC, Dark Comedy Short

Our independent production is seeking a dedicated 1st Assistant Camera to join our small, passionate crew for an upcoming dark comedy short film. This project explores themes of unexpected connections and absurd situations, with a tone that's both humorous and subtly poignant. We're aiming for a polished, cinematic look that enhances the comedic timing. Key responsibilities include precise focus pulling, camera maintenance, managing media, and assisting the DP with setup and breakdown. You'll be crucial in ensuring our visuals are sharp and our workflow is smooth on set. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of professional 1st AC experience, a strong understanding of various camera systems (we'll be shooting on a Red Komodo), and excellent organizational skills. Please have your own follow focus system and basic camera toolkit. A strong reel showcasing your focus pulling ability is a must. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for 3-4 days in late September 2026, with an estimated 10-12 hour shoot day. We'll provide craft services and meals.
