Camera for Short Film

Our independent production is seeking a dedicated 1st Assistant Camera for an upcoming short film shooting in Los Angeles. This project is a gritty, character-driven sci-fi thriller exploring themes of memory and identity, with a visually rich, atmospheric tone. As 1st AC, you will be crucial for maintaining camera focus, managing lens changes, and assisting the DP with camera setup and breakdown. We're looking for someone with at least 2-3 years of experience on independent sets, particularly with digital cinema cameras (RED/ARRI preferred). You should be meticulous, organized, and proactive on set. While we don't expect you to bring a full camera package, familiarity with industry-standard AC tools (focus pulling gear, matte boxes, etc.) is a plus. Please be prepared to share your reel or a list of relevant projects. The shoot is approximately 3-4 days during the last week of September 2026. This is a passion project with a strong script and talented crew, offering deferred compensation and excellent networking opportunities. Meals and craft services will be provided on set.
