Camera for Short Film

A haunting tale of forgotten bayou magic, our independent production is seeking an entry-level 1st Assistant Camera (AC) for an upcoming dramatic short film in New Orleans. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable set experience on a stylized, character-driven story with strong visual potential. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining focus, assisting the DP with lens changes, battery management, and general camera department support. We're looking for someone eager to learn and contribute to a close-knit team. You should have a basic understanding of camera operations and set etiquette. Please have a current reel or examples of any prior work, even student projects. While we can provide some basic gear, having your own slate, changing bag, and essential AC tools is a plus. We anticipate a 1-2 day shoot, likely on a weekend in mid October 2026, with exact dates to be finalized soon. This is a volunteer position, but we will provide meals, snacks, and a copy of the final film for your reel. It’s a great chance to network and expand your skills.
