1st AC, Feature Film (Chicago)

1st AC, we need your precision focus pulling and camera management skills for an upcoming independent feature film shooting in Chicago. This project is a gritty, character-driven drama set in the city, exploring themes of resilience and urban struggle with a naturalistic, intimate tone. We're aiming for a grounded aesthetic that relies on strong technical execution. You'll be responsible for maintaining focus, managing camera equipment, setting up shots efficiently, and assisting the DP with all aspects of camera operation. We're looking for someone with at least 1-2 feature or high-end short film credits as a 1st AC. You should be familiar with professional cinema camera systems (Arri, Red, Sony Venice) and their accessories. Please include your reel or a list of projects you've worked on, highlighting your 1st AC experience. Gear will be provided, but familiarity with various systems is a big plus. We anticipate a 3-week shoot schedule starting in September 2026, with some prep days beforehand. Hours will be standard 10-12 hour days. Compensation is negotiable based on experience.
