Camera for Short Film

Short Film Camera Toronto, ON mid Budget: Deferred pay

Shooting in Toronto during early September 2026 for 2-3 days, we’re looking for a skilled 2nd AC for a compelling dramatic short film. This independent production explores themes of memory and fractured relationships, with a grounded, intimate tone that will rely heavily on nuanced visual storytelling. We aim for a film festival run. As 2nd AC, your primary responsibilities will include managing slates and call sheets, maintaining camera logs, assisting with lens changes and camera builds, and ensuring smooth media management. You’ll be working closely with the DP and 1st AC to keep our camera department running efficiently. We expect an average of 10-hour shoot days. Candidates should have previous experience as a 2nd AC on narrative projects. A solid understanding of camera systems, particularly Red or Arri, is essential. Please submit your resume or CV along with a brief list of relevant projects. While we will be providing the primary camera package (Red Komodo), having a basic kit (slate, markers, lens tissues, etc.) is highly preferred. Compensation is deferred, with an agreement in place for festival proceeds and future sales. We’re aiming to confirm our crew within the next week or so.
