1st AC, Indie Feature Film, LA

Our independent production is looking for a skilled 1st AC to join our small, dedicated team for an upcoming feature film. This is a character-driven thriller, grounded in reality with a suspenseful, psychological tone. We're focused on building a collaborative crew passionate about compelling storytelling on a limited budget. You will be responsible for maintaining focus, managing the camera package, and assisting the DP during shooting. This involves lens changes, slate operation, and ensuring all camera equipment is in working order. We need someone who owns a professional 1st AC kit, including a monitor, follow focus, and necessary tools. Experience on at least one feature film or several short films in a 1st AC role is preferred, but we are open to strong candidates with less experience who can demonstrate a solid understanding of the role and a great reel. We anticipate about 3 weeks of work, tentatively scheduled for the second half of October 2026. Shoot days will be approximately 10-12 hours. We are offering a co-producer credit and backend participation as compensation for your valuable contribution to this project.
