Mid-Level Documentary Editor, Cape Town

Looking for a talented mid-level editor to join an independent production in Cape Town. Our upcoming project is a compelling feature documentary exploring the untold stories of local environmental activists, with a strong focus on their personal journeys and the surprising beauty of their fight. The tone is deeply human, inspiring, and visually rich. Your main responsibilities will include assembling raw footage into compelling scenes, collaborating closely with the director on narrative structure and pacing, implementing sound design and music cues, and preparing deliverables for final color and sound mix. We're seeking someone with a strong understanding of documentary storytelling, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro. Please have a compelling demo reel showcasing your documentary editing experience. While we'll provide the necessary hardware and software, your expertise is key. This is a deferred payment opportunity, reflecting the independent nature of the film, with a clear revenue share agreement.
