Editor, Sci-Fi Pilot

Pilot Editing Austin, TX mid Budget: $2000-3000/week

Hey Austin film community, I'm Bryce Harmon, a Production Sound Mixer, and we're looking for a talented editor for an upcoming sci-fi pilot. This is an ambitious project, blending classic sci-fi elements with a grounded, character-driven story. Think "Black Mirror" meets "Fargo" in terms of tone, with strong visual storytelling opportunities. It's a really exciting script, and we've got a great crew forming. We need someone with mid-level experience who can take our footage and craft a compelling narrative, focusing on pacing, emotional impact, and visual effects integration. You'll be responsible for all stages of post-production editing, from assembly to fine-cut, collaborating closely with the director. Ideally, you'll have your own editing suite and software (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro), along with a strong portfolio showcasing your narrative editing skills, especially in genres with a strong visual component. We're looking for someone who can elevate the material through their creative vision. This is a paid position, offering $2000-3000 per week, for an estimated 3-4 week commitment, starting around early to mid-August, with some flexibility. We'll provide all raw footage, music, and sound design elements. If you've got a sharp eye and a passion for sci-fi, we want to see your work. Please send your reel and a brief cover letter explaining why you're a good fit for this project.
